The Garden

For those who don't know, I love flowers.  I love walking in service and admiring the well kept yards.  We have several friends in our congregation that love gardening.  They have such beautiful yards with lots of colors.  And the vegetables are simply delicious.  Every time I see a garden, I secretly wish I had the ability to produce such greenery.  The thing is, I don't like dirt.  Mr. C smiles at me as I type this.  He thinks it's "interesting" that I don't like dirt.  I'm not entirely sure what that means, but I will smile and go with it.  Back to the garden and my fear of dirt.  I have lots of fears of the outdoors.  I fear worms, spiders, pretty much anything that crawls.  Still, I really want a garden.  We have a small area in our back yard that would be suitable.  Our patio is covered by a small deck and a stone area.  There is a L-sharped area that would work just fine to bring some warmth and color back there.  Honestly anything would be an improvement over th barren wasteland it's been.  I've hemed and hawed about starting a garden for about a year now.  Quite frankly, I lacked ambition... until now.

2nd Wedding Anniversary!!!!!!!

Hey guys! We're TWO!!!! Can you believe it! We are now in plural years! Fantastic!!!! The time has flown by so quickly. It's been a wonderful two years. And I'm still as enchanted with Sakiem as ever! He surprised me with a trip to VA Beach. We stayed in a lovely beach front resort. Our balcony overlooked the beach! I miss the beach so much! We spent a relaxing weekend strolling along the beach, eating great seafood - wonderful crab legs - and just being together. I surprised Sakiem with a home theater system. It's excellent! You should hear how the TV sounds now. And watching the basketball playoffs with surround sound is awesome! He surprised me with an iPod touch! I've been dying for one of those. He had already loaded it with my favorite music! I'm not sure how or when he did it but he got that past me. We have a lovely anniversary. And just like we did last year we watched our wedding video - talk included. It's the thing we're going to do every year on our anniversary... awww.. I know! Anyhoo.. just thought I'd make a quick update. I'm attaching a pic we took on the balcony of the room. There are more pics by Mr. C has not loaded them from his camera yet. When he does, we'll post those. Later!!

Special Assembly Day

This past weekend we attended the "Keep Watching the Ministry ..., That you Fulfill It" Special Assembly Day of Jehovah's Witnesses.  It was an excellent program, full of reminders and instructions; right on time as usual.  This year Sakiem was privileged to present a talk and interviews for the afternoon session.  He presented the part entitled, "Youths Who Fulfill the Ministry."  He gave an encouraging talk and then interviewed three exceptional young people - we've dubbed "the kids".  They were the most spiritual and well-mannered kids I've ever met.  Truly an encouragement.  They were all baptized (one of them got baptized that morning); and all would auxiliary pioneer from time to time.  They are even serving where the need is great for a week!  Great kids.  Sakiem did a wonderful job in the talk and he had such a pleasant ease with the kids.  I think one of them has adopted him a a "big brother" lol.  They email often.  He's a sweet kid.  We both thoroughly enjoyed the program.  After a wonderful day of spiritual instruction, we had a great evening of recreation with another young couple in our congregation.  They had a few people over for their home and we enjoyed good food, good drinks and great friends.  Excellent weekend.  Enjoy some pictures below.

Mr. C

Looking forward to the Special Assembly this weekend. The weather looks like it will be good. Nothing worse, than gettin all dressed up, and than having to deal with nasty weather. I am nervous about my part tomorrow. I cant believe our anniversary is right around the corner. Jay still doesnt know where we are going. I will tell her in a couple of days so she can pack. I think she will like where we are going. Oh well, its dinner time, the NBA playoffs are on, and I need to practice my part. Signing off. Mr. C.
